My journey at Curves StrubensValley started in 2014 when I found out that I had type 2 diabetes. My weight was up to 111kg and Bodyfat 43.3% and I felt terrible.

My sister had introduced me to the Curves in Australia, so I looked for one here near me and I found Curves Strubensvalley. I have been to many gyms in my time but none like Curves.

I love going for my workouts as there is always a friendly coach on the circuit, helping and showing us what to do.

I have made many friends there too and it is fun to train with them. There are always challenges for us and fun workouts.

I now go Monday to Friday for a 30-minute workout, and I am feeling fit and fabulous.

My weight is now down to 86kg (I lost 25kg, 6.7% Bodyfat & 62cm) and I am controlling my type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise.

I would recommend Curves Strubensvalley to any lady who wants to lose weight, get fit and have fun. I will continue to train here if I am able to.

I am 31 years old. I felt depressed, unattractive, and very unhealthy and unfit. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and a hiatal hernia in June’21.

I made the best decision to join Curves StrubensValley and started on the 29 September’21. My starting weight was recorded at 89.6kg and bodyfat 40.5%

In just 2 short months at Curves StrubensValley I have lost 1.8kg, 1.7% Bodyfat and 18cm overall.

I have also dropped my BP meds from 1/2 a tablet down to ¼ tablet every alternate day. I feel stronger and can take a good walk without huffing and puffing. I have also dropped from a 2XL to a Large in my clothing size.

My husband has even noticed the positive changes and continues to encourage me to go to gym every day!

I am 50 years old. Not having enough time in my day to spend hours in a gym the Curves 30-minute workout was best suited for me. Empowering myself to be healthy as well as being physically and emotionally stronger I started my Curves journey.

On the 15th of February 2021 I had my first weigh in and what a reality check it turned out to be (67.4kg).

For my height I should weigh 58kg. I was fortunate that coaches Nickey & Nathanie help set achievable and reasonable goals and now I could focus on getting my mind set right and start believing in myself.

Since day one I have stayed motivated and showed up for my workouts 6 days a week. I started making some healthy and more mindful lifestyle changes and increased my water intake to the recommended 2L per day.

By my third weigh in on the 3rd of April I could feel that I have become stronger and lost 16cm, 2.3% Bodyfat & 1.6kg.

While on my journey I met my gym buddy Millie, we train every day while encouraging and motivating each other and in doing so I have achieved 90% of my goals.

By the 3rd of December I have lost 10.2kg, 8.3% Bodyfat & 57.5cm.

Day 470 @Curves Strubensvalley New 2022 … had my Vitality Assessment done this morning ….cholesterol is hereditary in my family and having a stressful career I have been unable to maintain my cholesterol below the Discovery target of 5 in the past 11 years.

Changing my lifestyle and being committed to my daily strength exercise I have finally reduced my cholesterol to 4.7 without any medication.

I have been struggling to lose weight and even centimetres over the last couple of months. This made me so despondent! I went to the doctor and did a blood test which came back that I am premenopausal.

I then approached Nickey and asked for help, because I just couldn’t carry on like that anymore. Nickey and her team have been researching the effects of pre menopause for a few months.

Nathanie the manager came back to me with a eating plan, which I started 3weeks ago. I have lost 4 kg in 3 weeks, 1cm around my bust, 3cm around my abdomen and 1cm around my middle.

My BMI dropped, as well as my body fat. I feel amazing, so much lighter and I am so much more positive.
