I have been a member of Curves Strubensvalley since 2016/2017. Before I joined, I had always wanted to join a gym but was terrified of going and making a complete fool of myself and being judged by fellow members. Since joining Curves I have never had these fears again. The ladies only environment for all ages and all fitness levels really makes one feel at home. The trainers are lovely, bubbly, outgoing, never unwilling to help and the absolute best motivators. They have this peculiar skill where even on days where training feels like a chore, they trick your brain into thinking that there is nothing you’d rather want to be doing in that specific moment. I have never walked out of Curves, regretting a workout.

Over the course of my membership I have noticed an increase in my muscle strength and size, I have felt less fatigued and more energized and my sleeping patterns have improved drastically. These workouts have also played an enormous part in both my academical and sport achievements at school. It was also a stress reliever and a healthy way to relax and cope during my exams.

The last couple of months I have really been taking my Curves workouts extra seriously and I cannot wait to see where this journey will continue to take me. I know that no matter what my fitness goals are, Curves Strubensvalley will be more than able to help me reach them.

I joined Curves Strubensvalley to get active, improve fitness levels, lose weight and maintain a healthy mindset during these unprecedented times during Covid 19 pandemic, lockdown and the new normal way of life.

I started the 7 day trial and joined as a member in September 2020. I love the human connection with other members and it feels like a community of woman supporting one another, building each other up and being there for each other.

I initially dreaded the smart class but look forward to the challenges I endure on a Tuesday and Thursday and sometimes Saturday because I can feel how strong I have become in the past 6 months.

The coaches are very supportive and motivate us on the circuit.

At Curves Strubensvalley you can feel the camaraderie amongst the members. participating in the 6 weeks challenges to drop a dress size has motivated me to keep pushing ahead to achieve my fitness and health goals.

I have been a member of Curves for 9 years now.

I have a theory about a fit elderly person – Keep moving !!!!

Curves meet that requirement for me as I go to my daily half hour exercise , but apart from keep on moving it is very beneficial for my sleep time, curbing osteoporosis , controlling my cholesterol, heart disease especially high blood pressure

I have survived cancer for 9 years and thank goodness I stopped smoking 43 years ago which helped me survived that dreaded disease.

I am extremely happy with my daily CURVES routine combined with sensible eating and a great attitude towards a healthy happy life.

I should cruise into the golden years and just remember not everyone is able to exercise but for me it is a great privilege to do so.

I joined Curves Strubensvalley on 15 September 2016. Throughout my adult life, I have tried various exercise programmes including Aerobics, Callanetics and Gym memberships. I have never been an “exercise person”. I had driven past the mobile billboard & noticed that this was a ladies-only gym so I decided to give it a try. It was also close to my daughter’s school so very convenient I thought.When asked what my workout goal was I said I would like to work out 3 days a week. After the first few weeks, Nickey challenged me to come 5 days a week. I remember being so irritated with her because, I mean, here I was actually managing 3!! Well, I now workout 5 days a week on most weeks and really enjoy it!! I have already completed 154 workouts and my body is beginning to show the results. I’ve lost 8,5kg in spite of some health set-backs!Nickey then encouraged me to start doing the ParkWalk. I thought she was mad because Saturdays are the only mornings I can sleep late and I was very possessive of them! Needless to say, I joined and have now completed 9! My family are amazed at this newfound energy and have all been motivated to start trying to keep up with me. My 17 year old daughter joined me at Curves a few months ago, she only comes twice a week but I am confident that will change to more often very soon. My husband & tenant have joined me in the Park walks. Thank you Nickey for your constant encouragement & motivation. You are the best!!

We joined Curves StrubensValley just over one year ago. This was the best decision of our lives. A ladies only environment for all ages & fitness levels. Together we have lost a total of 43kg to date and we are maintaining our weight. Curves StrubensValley`s staff are amazing and the support is absolutely unbelievable. There is a constant encouragement to show up for your 30 minute strength training workouts 6 days a week. We have also realized that If you’re struggling with your motivation, or you simply want to squeeze more out of every workout you do, then one of the smartest moves you can make is to get a workout buddy.
